What is the history of Solidiance's India office?
Solidiance office in India is based in New Delhi. Nearly 15 years ago, Heiko Bugs, Founding Partner of Solidiance, had the pleasure of working with some of the largest Indian groups (Tata, Reliance industries, Godrej, etc.) and support some of their expansion plans and initiatives in Asia. In parallel he became a brand ambassador for the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and went on several tours through India, giving speeches and informing about growth options in Asia, especially China. It didn't take long until he was hooked - fascinated by its people, the huge growth opportunities and intrigued by India's tremendous challenges. So after nine years in China, it was a natural choice for him to move to India and establish Solidiance office in New Delhi. Since then we have been growing very quickly.
How is Solidiance different than other consulting firms in India?
We have a very experienced, enthusiastic local team with an international mindset. All staff in the Delhi office have a Master/MBA level education from top schools (Thunderbird school of Management, Manchester Business School, Indian Institute of Management, etc.) and several years of working experience. Diverse business backgrounds ranging from product development to manufacturing to marketing, sales and distribution ensures we understand what our clients really want and need, because we have been there ourselves.
We gather insights through personal meetings with key stakeholders and not from often outdated and inaccurate secondary sources. This requires frequent traveling and time consuming information gathering but allows for great discussions with key stakeholders and rewards with invaluable first hand marketplace insights. It is a very satisfying feeling when a business model/strategy takes shape and real value is created for our clients.
Everyone has worked on projects outside of India. Over 75% of our staff has studied and/or lived abroad. We both leverage our Indian roots and our international mindsets.

Who heads up the Solidiance office in India?
Solidiance office in New Delhi is headed by Heiko Bugs. He started his career in Asia in 1994 working for a manufacturing joint-venture in South Korea before moving back to Germany; he then spent time at a German consulting firm focusing on organizational restructuring. Heiko then spent eight years in South and East China participating in China's rapid development as an economic power house. Prior to joining Solidiance, he led the China operation of an international management consulting firm with four offices in China where he advised international companies on China market entry and growth strategies. Heiko has presented Asian topics at more than 30 international conferences in Europe, the US, India and China. Since 2009 Heiko has been based in our India office and has been focusing on the rapidly developing economic relationship between India and China and its global strategic impact. Heiko studied Economics and Information Technology at Mannheim University, Germany and holds an MBA (with Honors) from Rutgers, USA.
