Steven Ganster, Managing Director at Solidiance US, provides a brief overview of the Chinese and US automotive aftermarket. According to Ganster, while China’s automotive aftermarket looks like the US back in the mid-1970s, it will not take long for China to consolidate given the technology it has today which was not available 40 years ago. As China’s market continues to evolve, the use of technology will certainly accelerate change and leap frog phases that would occur in the US. E-commerce in China, for instance, is rapidly growing as a legitimate channel in the automotive aftermarket.
